Even if you supposedly know the Area?

Because something could happen & you Suddenly need to find another Route Fast?
Especially if your main Bug Out Evacuation/Exit Route gets Compromised or is no longer there?

OK I know most of you still most probably know how to use an old School Compass 🧭 & Read Topographical Maps 🗺 ….

But sometimes it’s seemed to have become a lost Skill/Art including the Knowledge
As many People just try to want to rely..
On their Electronic Devices alone…

Maps 🗺 can be Found in many Places..
If you actually do some Groundwork & Research…
& you would already Should have something in your Pack/BOB/72Hr Bag 🎒

You’d use your Phone’s Google/Apple 📱 Map App & look at what it can do..

Just to get an Idea..
Of how different Maps 🗺 look.

A quick trick to forever negate and end the confusion about compass declination, Lay out your map on a large flat surface. Carefully align a straightedge (yard stick) along the magnetic north arrow on the map, using a ball point pen or a fine line marker extend the magnetic north arrow completely across the map. Carefully align your straightedge with this line and draw a parallel line across the map, repeat until you have parallel lines across the face of your map. To use, align the edge of your base plate along your intended route and then turn the compass housing to align the orienteering lines (the lines on the bottom of the compass housing) with these newly drawn lines and your compass is automatically set to magnetic north ending the need to adjust for magnetic declination.

Think about keeping a Phonebook handy too.
Some of them might actually have a Street Directory of the Local area/Region..

Something that could come in Handy with research into what Type of Resources might be Found in Certain Locations?
Especially for S/S/S after SHTF…!!!
